Well, I have survived a crazy, crazy week. Usually in my profession, half-term means a week off. Of course, I am now in the same league of parents who no longer have a half-term 'off' and that from now on, half-term is only going to get crazier and busier.
This half-term, however, meant work for me. And I mean, full on work! Teaching all day at a children's dance workshop and then straight to rehearsals for a show for another school and then at the end of work my normal teaching jobs. I literally didn't stop.
Now because I work in the evenings, I am lucky I get to spend all day with Molly. And driving off to work, means I get to put my music up a little louder and shout loudly at he who dares to cut me up.
But this week, I was out in the day, every day, and sometimes not home until 10.30/11pm. Come Wednesday, it's safe to say, I was definitely fighting back tears as I left the house. I missed her like crazy. My brief moments I had with her in the morning, i wondered.....Does she think I don't care about her anymore? Has she forgotten I am her mummy? Does she prefer Nanny looking after her instead? Completely tormenting myself, and feeling incredible guilt as I left her for another day.
Ok, so I know I am being silly but I think these are completely normal reactions. But is it almost impossible to get the right balance? i wasn't having 'me' time, I was having 'career' time, but either or, is it impossible to do either without feeling prangs of guilt?
I once read a quote "You can be a mum and have a career, or you can be a mum and have a social life. Never both". Really? I mean that's silly right? But I think if I had all 3, all I would do is feel guilt. Am I setting myself up for having a very clingy baby?

Emma Levine - Review
Since becoming mama to Molly, one thing I have noticed is the growing competition between online children sites selling unique and incredibly stunning products. Targeted at mummies like me who always think 'only the best for my child' and a complete sucker for anything bright, funky and Boden-esque.
My new find is the gorgeous Emma Levine store, which I just need to share with you. If you are weak like me with a penchant for spending on your kids and run the risk of bringing up incredibly spoilt children, you may want to look away now. You're still looking aren't you......
Emma's inspiration comes from all things vintage. And if you take a look at the website, you will find nothing remotely tacky. In fact, I absolutely adore every single item. And the best bit: It's reasonably priced. YAY!
Molly was sent two fabulous outfits. A butterfly printed jersey t-shirt and legging combo and a romper with hat.
The jersey legging outfit (£29) is just adorable. In fact, I want one for me.
The romper is also equally as adorable, however the hat didn't fit Molly (yep mummy googling large baby head!) and also instead of where poppers are, they have used buttons. Classier, yes. Annoying, yes!!!!
Take a look at the outfits below, and my gorgeous Molly too. And then get exercising those fingers for some intense online shopping at Emma Levine.
*Only girls clothes sold, I'm afraid!!
Emma Levine also has a Facebook page. Take a look.

Manhattan Toy - Review
Since Day 1 ( well almost, anyway) Molly has struggled with 'Tummy Time" - and yes, I do sing that to the tune of Hammer Time. Oh god, I'm an embarrassment already, poor girl! But anyway, 'Tummy Time' is not been her favourite past time.
Speaking to those wonderful guys over at Manhattan Toy HQ, they decided to send me the water mat, which helps promote and encourage playing on tummy.
The mat come deflated and you simply just fill up to the water line. The objects inside the mat start to float about in the water. As always, NEVER leave your little one alone with the mat.
Ok, so I would love to say after using the water mat, Molly loves 'Tummy Time' and is well on her way to crawling....but she isn't. And she still hates being on her tummy. However, she lasts a little longer now with the mat, which is great as it continuously strengthens those neck and little arm muscles.
I'm sure one day she will just 'get it' and I won't be doing tummy time with her when she is 25!
Do read my previous Manhattan Toy review here. Manhattan Toy produce FABULOUS toys for babies. Molly is completely fascinated by each toy - she never tires from exploring and playing with each toy, learning basic skills to assist her for the future. TEAM MANHATTAN TOY!

Little Linens - Review
Every once in a while, you stumble across something special. Whether that be a picture or a restaurant/shop. Well somehow I stumbled across this website: Little Linens.
Little Linens design and create stunning, timeless and hand finished linen clothing. The designs certainly have a sense of 'days gone by' but a little modern twist. And not only that but each garment is made using fine linen cloth, washed to remove shrinkage which will also make the the garment beautifully soft. And...my favourite bit.... the buttons are mother-of-pearl, drilled from real sea shells. How gorgeous is that?!!
As a fan of all things nautical, it's only fitting that Molly had a little sailor girl dress. All she needs now is a straw hat, little ribbon in her hair (when she gets hair!!) and a yacht, which she can buy for her mummy and daddy when she becomes a doctor later on in life ;-)
Check out mummy's little sailor girl:
The dress Molly is wearing is 3-6 months, which is her size, however this came up fairly big. So if ordering, do bear this in mind.
Please go and have a look at Little Linens - they even have a FAB sale on!!

Watch Me Think - genius!
Since becoming Mama Holly, I have literally been mesmerised and brainwashed into every baby shop/baby aisle/online shop with the thought of buying the best and only the very best for my little girl (and clearly molding her into becoming a very demanding princess - uh-oh!) but everything is so pweeety and shiny and er...pink, how can I resist?!
But along with all the fabulous, gleaming, 'we're considerably richeeerrr than you' products, unfortunately so are the 'what in the b'jesus was I thinking when I bought this' products. The market for baby products is incredibly huge, that as a first-time mother you automatically think that your darling little one NEEDS the overly priced singing and dancing swingy chair thing which makes sounds such as whales, birds, the womb, heartbeat and it also feeds your baby at night and sings them to sleep (ok, so the last two were a lie, but wouldn't that be GREAT!). It's not until you get it home, unboxed and searched high and low for those Duracell AA's to get the damned thing to work, that you realise it was completely not worth it!
Watch Me Think is a great new way to upload video's to demonstrate the downfalls of a certain product which would save a lot of time and effort for mere mortals like me. Or even if you have a found a different use for a product, but not only that, a way to say to the online world 'I LOVE THIS!'.
And if your anything like me and fairly driven by the dollar, then the good news is: You get paid! 4x a year, into Paypal account and 'Thinkers' get 50% share of the profit. The catch? There is no real catch as such, however you do need to upload a vid with a product that you feel could be a little more 'worked on' or have a wonderful new idea in ways to better the product, and if that brand 'wahoo' your idea....then you can shout 'show me the money'!
Now no one go stealing my night-feeding, lullaby singing chair idea....I predict big things with this!

Annabel Karmel 20th Anniversary - REVIEW
In the big, wonderful and exhausting world of mummy's, there's a name that sits comfortably with everyone. A lady, who at times of complete confusion when it comes to weaning, manages to spell things out especially for those who lost their brains during pregnancy (er, me!) And that name be Annabel Karmel - I think the title of this post probably gave it away a little while ago!
But for those of you strange beings who are not quite sure of Karmel's wise words, then a little more about her:
Annabel Karmel decided to come up with her own recipes because her first son, Nicholas, was an incredibly fussy eater. So in 1991, she wrote the original Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner, which has since sold over 2 million copies.
Annabel has sold over 3 million books worldwide and her wide range of Annabel Karmel ready meals are sold in numerous top children's attractions, holiday destinations, supermarkets and restaurants all over the country.
Now, she is celebrating her 20th year and has released a special 20th Anniversary edition of her best selling book Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner.
As a first time mum, this book has been a god-send. If you remember, way way back, I admitted that I can't cook. Apart from an amazing spag bol. But other than that, it's James who don's the pinnie!
I love the Plum pouches and Heinz pots for Molly, because they really are packed full of goodness but it's nice to make fresh, nutritious recipes and plus I can't have Molly growing up telling everyone "my mum can't cook!'. The shame.
What I love about the book is that it explains about what Molly can and can't have to begin with, it even has a helpful meal planner diary to really help you with some kind of routine. I started with just first tastes....Broccoli, Carrot, Potato, Banana just so she could get used to different tastes. Fair to say, she has a sweet tooth, or should I say gum! But I am persevering, I want Molly to love a variety of foods!
As of tomorrow, I am progressing to the combined tastes. I have taken my time with Molly, I am in no hurry. I did start weaning at 4 months, purely because of her reflux, and admittedly it has got worse since, but only from her milk - she rarely brings up food.
Now, I am not going to say this too loudly but I am starting to like the domestic goddess life. I like boiling veg, using the blender (that's it so far!) It's not rock 'n'roll but god damn, I like it!
I have decided to cook the following combinations for the next week or so:
There are various other books in the Annabel Karmel range - I thoroughly recommend this book especially if you are weaning and clueless like myself :-)
Check out all of Annabel's other products at: www.annabelkarmel.com
You can also catch Annabel on CiTV on 'Annabel's Kitchen' every day for cooking with children inspiration.

Beauty and the Bib - Review
Beauty and the Bib really is a fairytale business story come true. Started up as a small Greenwich Market stall in 2004, Lara (the founder) was snapped up by the likes of Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Daisy & Tom. The product? Beautiful but practical bibs! Simple, yet actually really hard to find!
The bibs are really soft and absorbent, yet fun and incredibly cute. Molly suffers with reflux, so sick is an issue after every milk feed, so the fact the bibs cover most of her body saves me having to change her every hour....trust me this was the case a little while back!!
Beauty and the Bib geneorously sent me two beautiful bibs to try on Molly. Both came in a gorgeous organza bag each, which will come in handy when traveling.
The first one is a star shape bib with busy bees on. I used this for Molly's lunch feed, which as we know, is incredibly messy. Down her face, hands, on her clothes, even on my sofa...ARGGGH! But the bib caught it all, very impressive and I must say it's a must just for the cute factor!
Another fab thing about both bibs, is that they are big enough to pop round the neck, they simply velcro round the back. Some bibs are so fiddly and tight, that it aggravates Molly before her feed and then it really is a battle between Molly, Mummy and the spoon!
The next bib is a strawberry one. And in my opinion my fave. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Both bibs cost £8.00 each and there are lots of other scrummy designs to choose from. The cupcake design is currently being sold in Harrods, it's stunning!
Beauty and the Bib have loads to offer too. Rompers, hats, slippers and they even have a sale on.
Check out their Facebook and Twitter too for updates.

*Baby Luxe* - Bambino Merino
Over the coming weeks, months, years (?)...I will be bringing you reviews on all thing luxurious and gorgeously beautiful for those apples of your eyes. Some exciting reviews are on their way, starting with Bambino Merino.
~x~
Over at Bambino Merino HQ, they took the fabulous decision of giving little ol' me a chance of reviewing one of their beautiful sleep bags.
I am big fan of sleeping bags, you have complete reassurance that the blanket is not going to creep on to their faces in the middle of the night - a parents worst nightmare!
But why Bambino Merino? Why are their sleep bags so different to the 'norm'?
The sleep bags are made out of merino wool. Basically merino wool is all you want and need out of a fabric. It breathes when you need it to, virtually impossible to be allergic to merino, and can be worn at any time of the year.
So with regards to a sleep bag for babies is absolutely perfect. They can be used from 3 months to 2 years, with poppers under the arms to adjust for size of baby/child.
It put me straight at ease knowing that Molly was neither too hot nor cold in her bag. I have many sleep bags for her, varying from a 1.0 tog to a 2.5 tog and always panic thinking is it warm enough for her or the other way round.
Molly has been sleeping through the night but on rare occasions. Most of the time she will have one bottle through the night. A week of the Bambino Merino baby sleeping bag - slept right through, EVERY NIGHT!!!!
This is how I found Molly in the morning....facing the other way!!
Bambino Merino - I salute you! Mummy Holly has finally had some decent sleep. I even complained the other morning as I had too much sleep. Don't worry I have quickly withdrawn this comment....
£56.95 is a small price to pay for a great night sleep for both you and your little one.
They also make sleepsuits, hats, socks and plenty more! Now they just need to make adult sized sleep bags!!

Breastfeeding Awareness Week.
This week is Breastfeeding Awareness Week. And to be quite honest, I am getting sick and tired of the amount of pressure that is put on ladies to breastfeed!
Before my gorgeous baby girl Molly was born, I planned on breastfeeding. I attended the breastfeeding course on the NHS to make sure I was really clued up. The course was great. And the midwife did stress that it would not be easy but it’s completely worth it. The best start for your baby, cheap, convenient (no bottles, sterilising etc) and don’t get me wrong, I TOTALLY agree.
However, such is life, things do not always go to plan!
Molly was born and I breastfed her for her first few feeds. She wasn’t having a lot, but I didn’t panic as I knew it takes time. The fact that I had a c-section didn’t help as of course I was very uncomfortable. Then after a few tests it came back Molly had a little infection due to my waters breaking early and then delayed labour, so she had an IV drip and canular fitted into her tiny, tiny hands. It broke my heart.
Everything went down hill from there. I was going through the baby blues, constantly crying and worrying about my precious baby girl, that the last thing I needed was the added stress of breastfeeding. She wasn’t really taking it and of course, I just wanted Molly to get better, so as her mummy I took the decision that I just wanted her as strong as possible rather than having an infection then being told her sugar levels were low due to not feeding properly (I overheard this ‘chat’ from midwives to ladies all the time on the ward).
I mentioned it to one midwife that I was considering switching to the bottle, and she brushed it off and just said ‘keep trying’. So I did. Afternoon came, so I mentioned it again to another midwife. ‘Sweetie, it’s not been that long, you should really give it another go’. So I did. But enough was enough. Next midwife visit and luckily it was the ‘nice’ midwife and as soon as I mentioned it she replied ‘ of course, your Molly’s mummy, you do what you feel best. What brand bottle would you like?’. Easy as that.
No one ever takes into account the situation to why a woman is not breastfeeding. I’m sure it’s not because they can’t be bothered. But the period after having a baby is such a delicate time that the last thing us ladies need is added pressure.
I’m glad I bottle-feed Molly and I don’t regret my decision.
So breast maybe best for some but bottles can be the winning ‘formula’ for others!
Rant over.

Joanne has now since given birth to the lovely Olive and they have both decided to open it up to a few other mummy writers. This is where i enter, and curtsy beautifully.
Don't fret my faithful followers, Dolly's & Daydreams is not going anywhere, and in fact have some exciting reviews and lots of lovely yummy mummy things to talk about, but now i just get to talk even more. Happy days!

Weaning Week!!
It really only feels like yesterday that I gave birth to Molly Moo's, yet here I am scanning and scouring the baby food aisles....where has the time gone?? I cannot believe the variety of brands and foods you can buy, is it sad that I actually get excited about baby food shopping?!
Last week I started Molly on rice. Cow and Gate Rice. It started off badly. With gagging, spitting it out out, pulling the funniest faces and then she turned a corner. She was all smiles by the end of the week and it appears that she actually preferred rice to her milk.
So I now have the fun task of introducing Porridge. I opted to use Plum. Not only because their packaging is just simply gorgeous but also because they use a gluten-free super-food called Quinoa, which has fabulous protein levels. So bib on and the spoon at the ready....
YAY!! WE DID IT MUMMY!!
So, a lot of it went down her and her bib but surely that's all part of the fun of feeding: the mess!!
Molly has really suffered with reflux since day 1 and is still very sick after every bottle, so it is so nice to see her enjoying different tastes and textures.
But thank you Plum for making it a little bit easier. Scrum-diddly-umptious!
