Review: Prince Lionheart BoosterPod

Due to my hectic work schedule - principle of my dance school DanceJam, Freelance dance teacher and part-time social media junior exec, *I AM SUPERWOMAN* - Molly spends a couple of days with her nanny. Where she is spoilt rotten!

We didn't want to buy a highchair as Molly is getting bigger by the day and a highchair would just be a complete waste of money.
Prince Lionheart came to the rescue. Last year, I reviewed the bebePod as an alternative to the Bumbo, and this is a step up.

Straps on to the chair, it allows your toddler to feel more a part of the family dinner table and the seat looks incredibly squishy and comfy!

Molly actually sits in it for fun. I promise I don't deprive her of actual fun.

Prince Lionheart always manages to come up trumps when it comes to style, use-a-bility but above all, comfort!

Here's Molly and some boosterPod lovin':

This is an honest review and I recieved the boosterPod on behalf of Prince Lionheart.

Bloom - Review

OK...main factors to consider when choosing a highchair:

1. Practicability
2. Comfortableness

Factors to consider when I choose a highchair:

1. Style and will I gain extra 'cool-mum' points??

So after 30 mins of assembling the 'chosen one'...

et voila.

The Bloom Fresco. When God was giving out looks to highchairs, this was first in the queue. But, dear friends,  to my surprise, it's very practical. The Fresco has a crib, so you can lean the chair back for smaller babies, and then lift back up for an older baby. You can raise the seat, or lower, to keep in line with a dining table, AND its incredibly easy to clean. Easy to wipe, and no annoying little holes for crumbs to sit and hide and you can remove the seat pad to make sure there are no escapee crumbs too.

See not just a pretty face, huh?

BUT. Sorry there is a but. I couldn't put Molly in it straight away. She was 6 months and she looked so small and uncomfortable, that I had to wait. Molly was a small baby though but I still feel that it's best to wait until they can sit up properly.

Oh and just so you know, Kourtney Kardashian has one. That was enough for me.

Prince Lionheart bebePod - Review

So we have all heard of the Bumbo.....but just like (in my eyes) Pink is the new Black....or like Protein are the new Carbs, the bebePod by Prince Lionheart is definitely the new Bumbo, and BETTER!

So, say hello to my little fwend:

I think we can all agree that the design is fab. Funky, unique and I love the white 'resting' pod in the middle. Perfect to pop naughty little fingers on instead of going in her mouth and then getting her food everywhere - mummy is struggling with the whole messy food time!

I don't really want to be comparing this to the Bumbo, but it's hard not to when they are similar products and similar design. I found the bebePod to be softer and much squidgier, I am not sure if it actually is but it seems deeper, as Molly sits more comfortably in the bebePod, I found in the Bumbo she slumped to the side. I also find that when I get her out of the bebePod, she slides out easily, I was always have to deal with stuck bottom in the Bumbo.

Weaning Molly, this has been such a godsend. She is comfortable, and also for extra security, you strap it onto a chair, although of course I recommend staying with baby AT ALL TIMES!

TEAM bebePod!!

Please check out Prince Lionheart's other products. They are such a diamond company. All the elements of a family-run, fully established company, but at the forefront of innovative and modern designs. Their website has even made it's way onto my Favourite tab...now that is something!!

Annabel Karmel 20th Anniversary - REVIEW

In the big, wonderful and exhausting world of mummy's, there's a name that sits comfortably with everyone. A lady, who at times of complete confusion when it comes to weaning, manages to spell things out especially for those who lost their brains during pregnancy (er, me!) And that name be Annabel Karmel - I think the title of this post probably gave it away a little while ago!

But for those of you strange beings who are not quite sure of Karmel's wise words, then a little more about her:

Annabel Karmel decided to come up with her own recipes because her first son, Nicholas, was an incredibly fussy eater. So in 1991, she wrote the original Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner, which has since sold over 2 million copies.
Annabel has sold over 3 million books worldwide and her wide range of Annabel Karmel ready meals are sold in numerous top children's attractions, holiday destinations, supermarkets and restaurants all over the country.
Now, she is celebrating her 20th year and has released a special 20th Anniversary edition of her best selling book Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner.

As a first time mum, this book has been a god-send. If you remember, way way back, I admitted that I can't cook. Apart from an amazing spag bol. But other than that, it's James who don's the pinnie!
I love the Plum pouches and Heinz pots for Molly, because they really are packed full of goodness but it's nice to make fresh, nutritious recipes and plus I can't have Molly growing up telling everyone "my mum can't cook!'. The shame.
What I love about the book is that it explains about what Molly can and can't have to begin with, it even has a helpful meal planner diary to really help you with some kind of routine. I started with just first tastes....Broccoli, Carrot, Potato, Banana just so she could get used to different tastes. Fair to say, she has a sweet tooth, or should I say gum! But I am persevering, I want Molly to love a variety of foods!
As of tomorrow, I am progressing to the combined tastes. I have taken my time with Molly, I am in no hurry. I did start weaning at 4 months, purely because of her reflux, and admittedly it has got worse since, but only from her milk - she rarely brings up food.
Now, I am not going to say this too loudly but I am starting to like the domestic goddess life. I like boiling veg, using the blender (that's it so far!) It's not rock 'n'roll but god damn, I like it!
I have decided to cook the following combinations for the next week or so:

  • Butternut Squash & Sweet Potato
  • Butternut Squash, Sweet Potato and Cauliflower
  • Pea and Parsnip

There are various other books in the Annabel Karmel range - I thoroughly recommend this book especially if you are weaning and clueless like myself :-)

You can also catch Annabel on CiTV on 'Annabel's Kitchen' every day for cooking with children inspiration.

BOON!

Scouring the Internet, it's always the funky, innovative looking products which catch my eye, and BOON is up there with the best!
AND.....not only that, its completely affordable. From feeding products, bath toys, toy tidy's to highchairs, Boon is a market leading brand with parents at the forefront of their designs.

So receiving my parcel courtesy of Boon couldn't of come at a better time - I had just started weaning Molly, so I used the first product which was suitable for Molly's age.

Introducing.......THE SQUIRT!

One word to describe Squirt: Genius.

It's an easy to fill bulb which you can pop up to 85gm of baby food in and attach the spoon onto the end. The simply squeeze the bulb and the food smoothly comes through the hole. You can then pop the protective cover on over the spoon for in-between feeds.

I cannot stress enough about how easy this product makes feeding. Everything seemed cleaner, especially as Molly is not in a highchair yet and it meant i had a free hand. Stress-free feeding is always welcome in my household.

The Squirt is priced at £8.99 and available at BOON and make sure you visit their FACEBOOK and TWITTER page and like for updates, comps and loads more!

Stay posted as I have some fabulous Boon products waiting to be reviewed but need to hang on until the 'Moo Moo's' is a wee bit older!
