some time in the UK in the summer but it was all about that 'sun, sea and Sangria' holiday.
Fast forward to the present day, and the package holiday is a thing of the past.
Goodbye vacation.
Hello staycation.
When the UK hit the recession, it was common for folks to perhaps pass on the traditional holiday abroad. More and more people were starting to holiday in the UK with Devon and Cornwall the most desired. Recession is over, yet the staycation is still thriving.
For the past 3 years, we have holidayed in Devon. As you can tell from previous posts, its our FAVE place. We stay in the same hotel (Saunton Sands Hotel) as the views are breathtaking. The beach is perfect. And did someone say cream tea?
What I love best is that we are making memories for our children. They will grow up reliving the best stories from these holidays. Like, we always have to go to Squires fish and chips every holiday (by far, the best. EVER!) Or hunting for crabs on the beach. Or the time when James dad pushed me up the hill because I was heavily pregnant!
Maybe one day we will spread our wings and venture to Cornwall.
So summer is over and its time to think about where to go to next year. We miss Devon so much, we are booking a mini break for December. Cannot wait to see Devon covered in baubles!
Have I whet your appetite? Why not enter Parkdean's summer quiz where the first prize is a 3 or 4 night holiday worth up to £499 at the winner's choice of 11 Parkdean holiday parks in Cornwall or Devon.
